Split-face / angular, 5–10 cm (2–4 in), one box 20 kg / 44 lb. Harvia: for electric heaters, and as a top stone on wood. KIP, Vega, The Wall, TopClass, and most 4.5–9 kW wall units. Finnmark FD-5’s KIP45B and FD-4’s Vega Compact 1900 use this size class if you ever replace the factory stones.
Before you pile
Rinse the rocks in a tub or with a hose before they go in the heater. Factory dust will smell on the first heat if you skip it. Pile loose so air can move — a jammed cage cooks elements and kills löyly. Cover the elements on an electric; do not rest a boulder on a bend in the coil.

Which size for my heater?
5–10 cm for most electric wall heaters. 10–15 cm for wood stoves and large floor electrics. HUUM CLIFF/STEEL want 3–5 cm; DROP/HIVE/CORE and HUUM wood want 5–10 cm. If the manual disagrees with a rule of thumb, the manual wins.
