Harvia black vulcanite in the large 10–15 cm split face (AC3045), 20 kg / 44 lb. The rock goes dark and glossy when you throw water. It is a working stone, not a soapstone elf.
What size and where it goes
Split-face / angular, 10–15 cm (4–6 in), one box 20 kg / 44 lb. Same 10–15 cm job as AC3020 — wood stoves and large electrics. Harvia also sells a 5–10 cm vulcanite (AC3040) for wall electrics. Do not mix sizes in a cage that only fits one.
Before you pile
Rinse the rocks in a tub or with a hose before they go in the heater. Factory dust will smell on the first heat if you skip it. Pile loose so air can move — a jammed cage cooks elements and kills löyly. Cover the elements on an electric; do not rest a boulder on a bend in the coil.

Which size for my heater?
5–10 cm for most electric wall heaters. 10–15 cm for wood stoves and large floor electrics. HUUM CLIFF/STEEL want 3–5 cm; DROP/HIVE/CORE and HUUM wood want 5–10 cm. If the manual disagrees with a rule of thumb, the manual wins.
