HUUM DROP 9 is a 9 kW electric sauna heater for rooms of about 283–460 cu ft. The teardrop-shaped wall-mount heater, made in Estonia, holds a big stone load (about 121 lb / 55 kg of 2–4 in stones) for a milder, longer steam than a small box heater. US installs are typically 240V hardwired by a licensed electrician. It needs a HUUM UKU control, and stones are sold separately. It suits 8–9 kW cabins like the SaunaLife E8W and CL5G.

How it heats

Electric elements inside a stone cage. You need a HUUM UKU (or compatible) control — there are no dials on the heater. Round stones are what HUUM recommends. Licensed electrician, heat-resistant cable, no guessed breaker size from us. Glass and masonry: add equivalent volume when you size kW.

Match heater kW to insulated interior volume. Glass, stone, tile, or thin walls need more heater than a tight wood room of the same size. A licensed electrician completes the hookup from the nameplate — we do not guess breaker size. Email hello@selfcaresaunas.com to size the room first.

FAQ

What room size does it fit?
HUUM rates the DROP 9 for about 283–460 cu ft. For uninsulated glass, brick or tile walls, HUUM’s manual adds 1 m³ (about 35 cu ft) of room volume for each square meter (about 11 sq ft) of that wall. See our heater sizing guide.

What electrical service do I need?
HUUM US heaters are typically 240V hardwired. A licensed electrician sizes the circuit and cable from the table in the HUUM manual. We don’t invent amps.

Are the control and stones included?
Not with the heater-only listing. You need a HUUM UKU control and 4 boxes of stones. The DROP 9STU package pairs the heater with stones and a UKU control; email us if you want the packing list in writing.

How does it ship?
By freight. Sauna heaters are not part of the free ground parcel offer (that covers eligible parcel items over $75, such as stones and parts). The freight cost shows at checkout or is confirmed with you at order confirmation. Inspect the delivery and note any visible damage on the receipt.

What warranty does it have?
It is covered by HUUM’s manufacturer warranty; the general terms are at huum.eu/warranty. HUUM’s manual says the warranty is not valid if the heater output does not match the room volume, so size the room first.
