HUUM HIVE 12 is a 12 kW floor-standing electric sauna heater for rooms of about 424–636 cu ft. The round, beehive-style stainless steel cage stands about 29.5 in tall and 22 in across and holds about 551 lb (250 kg) of 2–4 in stones for a mild, long-lasting steam. Its round shape lets it stand in the middle of a larger room. Made in Estonia. HUUM’s US spec is 240V, hardwired by a licensed electrician. It needs a HUUM UKU control plus the UKU Extension Box, and stones are sold separately (17 boxes).
How it heats
Electric elements inside a stone cage. You need a HUUM UKU (or compatible) control — there are no dials on the heater. Round stones are what HUUM recommends. Licensed electrician, heat-resistant cable, no guessed breaker size from us. Glass and masonry: add equivalent volume when you size kW.

FAQ
What room size does it fit? HUUM rates the HIVE 12 for 12–18 m³, about 424–636 cu ft. For uninsulated glass, brick or tile walls, HUUM’s manual adds 1 m³ of room volume for each square meter of that wall. For smaller rooms, see the HIVE Mini 9 or our heater sizing guide.
What electrical service do I need? HUUM’s US spec table lists 240V with a split 30+30 A supply and 10+10 AWG cable for the HIVE 12. A licensed electrician confirms the circuit from the HUUM manual and nameplate.
Are the control and stones included? No. You need a HUUM UKU control and the UKU Extension Box, which our listing names for the HIVE 12, 15 and 18. You also need 17 boxes of round 2–4 in stones such as HUUM 5–10 cm stones. The HIVE 12STUX package is also listed; email us to confirm its packing list.
How does it ship? By freight. Sauna heaters are not part of the free ground parcel offer (that covers eligible parcel items over $75, such as stones and parts). The freight cost shows at checkout or is confirmed with you at order confirmation. Inspect the delivery and note any visible damage on the receipt.
What warranty does it have? It is covered by HUUM’s manufacturer warranty; the general terms are at huum.eu/warranty. HUUM’s manual says the warranty is not valid if the heater output does not match the room volume, and damage from unsuitable stones is not covered, so size the room and use proper sauna stones.
