Sizing
Match heater kW to insulated interior volume. Glass, stone, tile, or thin walls need more heater than a tight wood room of the same size. A licensed electrician completes the hookup from the nameplate — we do not guess breaker size. Email hello@selfcaresaunas.com to size the room first.
FAQ
Is a heater included?
No. You must add a compatible heater before use. Stones, control and chimney come with the heater you choose.
What size is it, and what heater does it need?
About 86.6 in deep × 91 in wide × 93 in tall outside and about 70.8 × 87.5 × 85.5 in inside, seating up to 6. The recommended electric range is 8–9 kW, such as the Harvia KIP80B, Harvia Virta HL90E or HUUM DROP 9. The glass front and cold-weather use may need the high end. See our heater sizing guide.
What electrical service do I need?
The heater sets the circuit, not the cabin. A licensed electrician wires your electric heater from its nameplate and manual; typical US installs of the Harvia KIP and HUUM heaters we sell are 240V. We don’t guess breaker sizes. SaunaLife’s LED light bar needs power too, so include it in the plan. A wood-burning stove needs a chimney and clearances instead of a heater circuit.
How does it ship?
By freight, with curbside-style delivery in the contiguous US. Saunas are not part of the free ground parcel offer (that covers eligible parcel items over $75). The freight cost shows at checkout or is confirmed with you at order confirmation. Inspect the delivery and note any visible damage on the receipt before you accept it.
What base does it need?
A flat, level, firm base that drains, such as a concrete pad, pavers on compacted gravel, or a deck built for the load. SaunaLife’s dimension drawing lists the CL7G at about 1,875 lb, and it includes foundation beams.
What warranty does it have?
SaunaLife’s limited warranty covers defects in workmanship for two years in residential use, for the original retail buyer. It does not cover heaters or added components, natural weathering of the wood, or installation and delivery. Your heater has its own manufacturer warranty. SaunaLife warranty (PDF).
Can I use a wood-burning stove?
Yes, where the stove manual’s clearances fit this outdoor timber cabin. See the wood stoves listed above, and plan for a chimney.
